Blomberger Holzindustrie GmbH

Special beech plywood from the oldest plywood plant in the world

Special beech plywood’s importance has still not diminished over 100 years after its development in our plant, the oldest existing plywood plant in the world. The beauty and individuality of the wood, its great strength and load-bearing capacity and its extraordinary hardness and wear resistance make Delignit® special plywood in all its variants an extremely versatilely deployable material. Nowadays we produce modern wood materials including special hardened beech plywood for technical applications, in particular with innovative solutions including ready-to-install components (modules) for the transport sector (rail/road/waterway/air), general industry, the timber trade, woodworking, interior construction including fire protection, sound insulation, thermal insulation and bullet and break-in resistance.

Material & system competence

Under the Delignit brand name, we develop, manufacture and sell ecological materials and system solutions from renewable natural resources.

As an established development, project and series production partner of leading automotive groups, we supply automotive companies with cargo space protection and safety systems for light commercial vehicles. In this market, we are now the world's number one supplier. With a product range that is second to none catering for every conceivable application and vertical integration, we serve as a valued partner of many other technology industries, for instance as a system supplier for reputable rail stock manufacturers. Delignit solutions are known for their outstanding technical properties and therefore the preferred products for car boot floors, special floors in production and logistics facilities and flooring systems to improve the safety standards of buildings.

Most Delignit materials are produced from European hardwood, which makes them carbon neutral and much more sustainable that materials from non-renewable sources. By opting for Delignit materials, manufacturers can minimise the carbon footprint of their products, making sure that they meet the most stringent ecological standards.

We control and monitor the entire manufacturing chain from the beech trunk to the finished Delignit® materials. We always find the best possible material specification in collaboration with our customers.

The Delignit value chain ranges from forestry to material processing to ready-to-install system solutions.

Ecological responsibility

We see ourselves as having a responsibility towards Nature right from the start and in every creation process. Sustainable actions in harmony with Nature stand for the way that forestry has been practiced for generations. As a long-standing and reliable partner of private and state forestry authorities, the Delignit concern builds on this principle of sustainability in terms of procuring raw materials by which only as much wood is taken for processing as grows back again in the forests. This means that the seedlings planted out at the end of the 19th century are now harvested after a growth period of approximately 120 years and taken for processing and the manufacture of Delignit® products. An ecological and sustainable circulatory system which creates the basis for tomorrow today and thus secures the continuation of a quality of life for our children which we all would not wish to relinquish.

Sustainability

We support the Wood Initiative “Holz verantwortungsvoll nutzen”
